South Beds Quiz Night

During in the Easter holiday South Beds Guiders, Trefoil Guild members and friends took part in a fun Quiz Night. As the rounds progressed we identified we knew very little about the countries in Europe and sport and not a lot more about Bedfordshire, however most teams faired better in the food and drink round.
As well as answering questions the teams were challenged to make the tallest tower they could using marshmallows, cocktail sticks and straws. There were many inventive approaches, the most successful from the teams that ate most of their marshmallows. After some tense measuring, Sheelagh, Anita June and Julie's tower was declared the winners.

However the overall quiz winners, and retaining their unbeaten record, were the Woburn contingent of Lindsay, Gail, Jan, Angie and their secret weapon, Jan's Auntie Dawn. Everyone enjoyed the evening and hopefully we'll do it again soon,

The 1st Chicksands Rainbows raised £50 during their World Thinking Day celebrations by taking part in the Bedfordshire Girl Guiding event 'Tea in Beds'. The 10 girls, aged 5-7 years, invited their families for tea and cake during their normal weekly meeting on the 19th February 2008. The Rainbows themselves looked after their guests by selling raffle tickets, taking orders and serving the cakes. The money raised from the raffle and kind donations will go to the World Thinking Day Fund, which will support the work of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in developing guiding around the world.
