3rd Biggleswade Brownies
The 3rd Biggleswade Brownies received a letter from The Office of TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and HRH Prince Henry of Wales after sending cards they had made to the Royal couple for their wedding Day.
3rd Biggleswade Brownies

"Dear 3rd Biggleswade (Methodist) Brownies,
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have asked me to thank you for your
lovely hand-made cards. They really are delightful. I do hope you all enjoyed
watching the Wedding; it was a very special day.
Their Royal Highnesses have been overwhelmed by the incredibly kind
messages they have received in connection with their Wedding, and were immensely
touched that you should take the trouble to make such splendid cards. This was greatly
appreciated by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who have asked me to send you
their warmest thanks and best wishes."

GIRLS FROM BIGGLESWADE RAINBOWS CELEBRATE 100 YEARS OF GUIDING WITH WILD ZOO VISIT
Biggleswade Rainbows

34 Rainbows from Biggleswade District joined 1,000 other Rainbows from across Herts, Beds and Bucks at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire to Go Wild at Whipsnade. The visit on 25 and 26 September was one of hundreds of events taking place across the UK throughout this year to mark the first 100 years of guiding.

Almost 1,000 Rainbows, the guiding section for five to seven-year-olds, visited the zoo for a special day out. As well as the usual attractions, exclusive activities available only to Rainbows included special animal talks, feeds and demonstrations, a treasure hunt, and crafts including making parrot feeders. A few lucky Rainbows were even invited in to the enclosure to help feed the penguins. Girls from Caldecote Rainbows particularly enjoyed seeing the baby cheetahs.

Flo, 6, said picking her favourite part was easy: 'The flamingos were the best! They walked so funny.'

Record Gangshow Cast To Perform To Sell-out Audience

Biggleswade Scout and Guide Gangshow has already broken all records. The cast of 283 is a record for any gangshow in the UK and it will perform to capacity audiences at Stratton Upper School.
This year the gangshow has a strong girl element as the Guides celebrate their 100th birthday. It is an anniversary that has brought out the very best in Guiding and Scout as the senior movement (by three years) good-naturedly makes way for their younger colleagues.
Producer of many gangshows, Nick Gurney has two co-producers to keep him in check. They are Jackie Neville (seen on the right) and the other is Nick's wife Babs (seen on the left of the photo below) whom he met at a gangshow when she was a Guide and Nick was a Sco

ut. Jackie and Babs are joint District Commissioners in Biggleswade and also leaders of 1st Biggleswade Brownies.

The Trefoil Guild of retired Guides is set to give their all with a medley of old Guide songs. And in a not to be missed sketch, Judith Thatcher casts a roguish eye over the audience with her musical rendition of 'Nobody loves a fairy when she's 40'.
Biggleswade Gang Show

The 1st Biggleswade Guides have secret routine which no one has seen yet covering 100 years of Guiding. But all will be revealed on the night. While not to be outdone, the 3rd Biggleswade Guides perform a dance routine from 'Fame'. But the first half closes in hysterical fashion with a Guide cookery lesson from the Langford company that has the stage and the Guides covered in cream.
Romping Rainbow Guides and Brownie dancing queens will show flashes of music and movement in a carefully choreographed act from the five to ten year olds. Like all the cast they have been rehearsing regularly for over three months.
Biggleswade Gang Show

The Leaders hilarious camp breakfast sketch has Judith Thatcher again as a noisy knocker upper along with Guide and Scout Leaders performing the Morecambe and Wise routine to stripper music with a sausage finale that will have the audience asking for more.
And the Scouts get a chance to shine with 'One man went to mow' along with more dogs than you can shake a stick at. Somehow they weave this in to a sketch on the theme of 'Bob-a-job' The show will end with a traditional campfire sing song with lots of audience involvement.
Biggleswasde Gang Show

A DVD of images from the show and a full survey of cast members will be on sale on the night. It's a must-have memento of one of the best highlights of Scouting and Guiding action in 2010. Peter Southurst
