Girlguiding Bedfordshire, we take great pride in our trained Guiders
and volunteers.
Almost 800 people help to run the exciting programme of activities we offer each week across the County. Altogether, more than 200,000 hours worth of volunteering time are given each year to support girls and young women in Bedfordshire - equivalent to 110 jobs in youth work at a cost of over £1.1million. |

Our guiders come from every walk of life - ordinary people united by a belief that we can make a difference to the lives of our members - challenging them to try out new experiences, developing their self- confidence and encouraging them to make new friends and have fun. | |||

probably already know that. But did you know that to enable her to
run a unit she has to undergo an average of 20 hours training to give
her the necessary skills in: - management - financial accounting - youth work With Girlguiding Bedfordshire, if she wants, she can also undertake additional training to become qualified in areas like: - Training - and obtain a National Vocational Qualification - First aid - Food Hygiene - A range of outdoor activities such as archery, canoeing, walking and abseiling - Camping and holiday permits All of which is paid for by us. All these skills are fun to learn - and an asset on any CV. No wonder people are coming to join us to take advantage of the development opportunities we offer! So when you see your Guider at the weekly meeting, please remember this. We may be a voluntary organisation. But we are definitely NOT amateur. You can leave
your daughter, secure in the knowledge that she is being looked
after by a trained professional - who works to strict safety guidelines
and who has your daughter's interests at heart. |
