STEP BACK IN TIME Would you and your family like to tread in your ancestors' footsteps in a unique living history experience? BBC ONE's hit living history series TURN BACK TIME is back! Last year we sent shopkeepers back in time on the British High Street. This year we're looking at family life through the ages and we're on the hunt for families to travel through time and experience a century of change first hand. We'll take a street of houses back to 1901 and over the course of several weeks we'll fast forward our families through the 20th century. In an exciting new twist, some of our families' journey will even be based on their own family history! Over the course of the century, the street's community will evolve and reflect change in British society - so as well as two parent families we'd love to hear from single parent families and anyone whose family migrated to the UK in the post-war years. If you'd like to find out more, we'd love to hear from you! But please don't do any additional research into your family history - it's helpful if you don't know too much in advance. Filming will be in Spring 2012. For more information please

O'Reilly on 020 7241 9399 Big Book Challenge for Bookworms During School Holidays! With school holidays fast approaching, a special reading challenge for young bookworms is being launched in June in aid of The Children's Trust. Over the next three months, children of all ages are invited to take part in the Big Book Challenge. The aim is to encourage children to read as many books as possible during their summer break, and ask friends and family to sponsor them to raise money for The Children's Trust, a national charity which supports some of the UK's most profoundly disabled children. No matter how old, everyone loves a good story. It's a great opportunity for all the family to get involved. The children at the Trust will be joining in too with storytelling evenings and activities. Every penny raised will make a positive difference to the lives of the children and families that The Children's Trust supports. Jacqueline Wilson, award-winning children's author who is supporting the special challenge, said: "I've been a bookworm since I was six years old. Books delight, entertain and inform - they're the most magical way of enriching our lives. It's also great fun discovering other worlds and meeting wonderful characters within the pages of a book. I hope children will really enjoy taking part in this challenge - and that a lot of money is raised to support the work of The Children's Trust." Everyone who takes part will receive a certificate and those who raise over £50 in sponsorship will receive a free copy of 'The Bestest Ever Bear' poetry book. LEPRA Health in Action is asking Guides to support the Jar of Hope appeal, with the help of Guides and Brownies LEPRA will be able to cure and further care for many more children who have leprosy. For some of these children it may mean the restoration of sight, for others the use once again of hands and feet, others diagnosed early will be prevented from disability but for them all it will be the gift of health and a more secure future. Currently 400,000 new cases of leprosy are being diagnosed each year and of this number 160,000 are children under the age of fourteen. Many people in our own society believe leprosy to be a disease of the past and welcome the opportunity to support our patients. It costs LEPRA approximately £25 to cure one individual and LEPRA further supports patients by helping them to re build happy and fulfilling lives within their own community The LEPRA Jar of Hope allows young people to collect modest donations from family and friends, to undertake tasks for modest reward towards their donations and complements the Community Service element of Guiding. This simple, easily managed fundraising initiative will ensure that children are cured of leprosy. Your guides would play a crucial role in the important work of LEPRA . There can be no finer example of Community Service Foe more information contact Valerie , Guides will receive a LEPRA badge- ideal for camp blankets! Guyana Challenge Badge supporting
