Ampthill Guide Company
1st Ampthill Guide company had a very interesting
visit to The English School of Falconry at the Birds of Prey Centre
at Old Warden Park, Biggleswade.
Amongst the many birds that they saw were a beautiful Barn Owl called
"Dibley" and an equally magnificent Bengal Eagle Owl called
"Boo". Here some of the guides are seen posing elegantly
with the Owls.
The
Guides found the visit fascinating and thoroughly enjoyed the whole
experience.

very windy the rain held off and the guides had a very enjoyable time
getting muddy.

Ampthill Guide Unit - "Five Senses Go-For-It"
Richard brought along one quarter of his collection of Reptiles for
an excellent hands on experience touching and learning about bearded
lizards, snakes, scorpions, cockroaches, turtles, chinchillas and
not to forget Harry the Toucan. http://www.reptileroadshow.co.uk/

The 10 kg tortoise was nine years old
The chinchilla did not seem to mind where it sat!
One guide became very attached to the blue-tongued lizard she was
holding, and named it Gremlin.

The guides were all prepared to hold something, though there were
a few screams when the cockroach escaped.
