1st Ampthill Guides
1st Ampthill Guides had a
stall for Ampthill Gala Day. The theme was 'food round the world'.
We had a 'Test your Touch' game where you had to guess which fruit
and vegetables were in the feely bag - harder than you think! We
also had a challenge for adults: Where in the World? Various foods
had to be identified and placed on the world map.

Spring Camp 2011
1st Ampthill Guides joined 3rd Colindale Guides for a Spring Weekend
of crafts, games and fresh air! It is nice for the girls to be able
to meet other guides from other units and get to know them whilst
at camp.

1st Flitwick Rainbows Change
the world challenge
1st Flitwick Rainbows
chose the Trigger Happy challenge to find out more about asthma.
They chose to do a variety of activities which were suggested in
the activity pack.
We found out how asthma can affect your breathing and undertook
challenges to make ourselves breathless, we also made paper airways
to investigate how hard it is to breathe when our airways are made
very narrow.
We found out about things that can trigger asthma and one of our
Young Leaders was able to tell us about her experiences. We played
a feely bag game and a parachute game to identify triggers.
We made a picture to remind ourselves about the importance of asthma
inhalers for people who have asthma and also talked about what to
do if someone has an asthma attack.
To finish our project we held a mini summer fayre for the Rainbows
who enjoyed bringing along their money to spend on ice-cream and
various other stalls and activities including "Beat the Goalie",
Lucky Dip, catch a fish and target throwing challenges. The girls
raised £35 for Asthma UK
Everyone had a great time with this challenge which involved lots
of laughter as well as the recognition that there is a serious side
to it.
