Ist Oakley Brownies

1st Oakley Brownies had a wonderful non-stop exciting time at Butlins Starburst. The accommodation was great and although the activities were fantastic the food came top of the vote, with the adults too. The girls had a free choice in the restaurant but ended up with fairly balanced meals-e.g. chips followed by salad, pudding, more chips, tuna and hot chocolate.
The Redcoats were very funny; we learnt dances and cheerleading and even managed a peek at the sea. Parents couldn't believe we had actually done all the activities listed in the girl's souvenir booklets.
Having shopping timetabled into our morning was the icing on the cake, or rather sugar on the large tubs of sweets from the huge sweet shop.
The least confident Brownie in Friday did not want to go home by Sunday, but the Brownie planning to go to the next centenary may be a little disappointed!
The organisers certainly hit their target of creating an unforgettable weekend for us all. Many, many thanks to everyone involved.
