Guiding in Bedfordshire is about providing opportunites for Girls and Young Women to:

  • Be challenged by new adventures and experiences and take pride in their achievements.
  • Develop self - awareness, self respect and self - confidence.
  • Develop a personal faith and values to give life meaning and direction.
  • Think for themselves, govern themselves and make their own decisions.
  • Make friends and have fun.
  • Develop tolerence, justice, kindness and honour.
  • Learn about team working and game leadership skills.
  • Appreciate the environment.
  • Understand about the world, its people and its cultures.

With more than 6,000 members we are the largest organisation for girls and women in Bedfordshire.

  • 5470 girls are members of Bedfordshire Guide Association.
  • 746 adults volunteer to help Guiding in Bedfordshire.
  • Almost 50% of women have been involved with the Guide association some time in their life.
  • Adults in Bedfordshire give more than 200,000 hours voluntarily to Guiding. This is equivalent to 110 full - time jobs in Youth Work worth over £1.1 million.
