Making Friends and Having Fun

"I am a Rainbow because it's fun, happy, enjoyable, exciting." A Rainbow

"It's cool, fab, excellent, wicked, fantastic, fun, super and we play games." A Guide

"It's a total change from work and the normal routine of life - and it's fun!!" A Guider

Brownies acting

From the youngest Rainbow to the oldest adult member, Guiding is all about those special memories and friendships that can last a lifetime:

  • The time your Guide Guider burnt the food at camp - and what it tasted like!
  • Abseiling down a tower for the very first time whilst encouraged by your friends
  • The first time you went on Pack Holiday, Camp, abroad, were awarded a Brownie badge .....

Guiding is unique in the range of experiences it can offer to young girls and women today. In Bedfordshire, the list of fun activities we have done this year is enormous and ranges from visits to the Zoo, pantomime and theatre to camp and pack holiday activities which are at the very centre of the Guiding programme.

Specific examples of what we have done include:

  • A Brownie activity day with a beach party theme in Flitwick
  • A holiday by the 26th Luton Strathmore Brownie Pack to the Isle of Wight
  • A trip to London by Guides in East Bedfordshire, where some of them made their Promise on the London Eye
  • A visit by various units across the county to the Millennium Dome and the Association's GIC2K pop concert involving stars such as Point Break and Atomic Kitten
  • A fun evening in Flitwick for families to join in the games and a barbeque

No wonder so many girls in Bedfordshire are having so much fun.
