"To celebrate Thinking Day the Forget-me-knots had a cookout. We cooked sausages on sticks and marshmallows which we put on chocolate digestive biscuits. We also cooked baked beans in a tin and jacket potatoes. After that we ate some cake and Stephanie spilt it all down herself." Suzannah - Guide |

In Bedfordshire, we aim to give girls both new experiences of activities they might not have had the chance to try before as well as the old favourites that bring them back to Guiding year after year. This year, girls had the chance to try out activities ranging from ice skating, canoeing, kayaking and windsurfing to archery, rock climbing and pioneering. Old favourites included camping, night hikes and walking (including a trail around Bedford Cemetery one evening!). In Bedford Division, fish and chip walks were very popular - but that may have had a lot to do with the supper at the end! |
One of the highlights of the year was Bedfordshire's Backwoods Day. This was held at Milton Bryan on 7th May and involved various activities for the 200 girls and women who took part. These included backwoods cooking, orienteering, pioneering, tracking and fun activities on the water. The highlight of the day was tackling the assault course.
"I love camp and paack holiday - even when you are soaked or bitten to death by bugs!" Guider |
