The grown ups have fun too Grown ups have fun too!

The Guide Association in Bedfordshire simply would not exist without our many volunteers who run the programme we offer. What we give them in return is the chance to:

  • Have some fun
  • Meet new friends
  • Take up training opportunities
  • Gain qualifications
  • Learn new skills

What other organisation can give you all this as well as the fulfillment of knowing you have helped a girl reach her potential?

Guiders and other volunteers can access a range of courses at a national and local level provided at low or no cost - from First aid to craft courses and personal development training to improve skills like leadership and effectiveness.

Formal qualifications on offer include Pack Holiday Licenses, camp licenses, Overnight Licenses, Health and Hygiene, First Aid Certificates and NVQ's in training.

We are also into the 2nd year of our successful mentoring scheme which provides ongoing support to new Guiders who volunteer with us.

This year we had about 80 new Guiders and Young Leaders in Bedfordshire, working on their leadership qualification and supported by more than 40 trained mentors who provide encouragement, problem solve and pass on their skills to the new Guider.
