Woodcroft is suitable for Pack Holidays,
Indoor Holidays, Trainings, and Camping.
Woodcroft was built in 1988 and
is situated in 41/2 acres about 5 miles from Luton Town Centre just
off the A6 at Bramingham Wood.

Main Hall
|
|
|
|
There are areas of woodland adjoining
the building and the main hall opens onto a lawn suitable for Brownies
and Rainbows to play on. A short walk through the woods there is
a field of approximately 1 acre suitable for wide games, Brownie
Revels and camping etc.

Kitchen
|
There is easy access for the disabled,
with a portable ramp at the main entrance and a purpose built accessible
toilet and shower.(See A on the plan).
The whole site is enclosed by palisade
fencing.

Woodcroft's Facilities include:
24 bed (new bunk beds purchased
in 2004) carpeted dormitory - users are required to bring their
own sleeping bags, pillows and sheets. (Please note top bunks are
not suitable for children under 6 years)
Shower room with accessible toilet
and shower, and two further showers, and 2 wash basins (Hot and
Cold) with outside access. (See B on the plan)
Cloakroom containing 3 toilets,
3 wash basins (hot and cold).
Separate cloak room used as gents
toilet when required. (See B on the plan)
Guiders' room with fitted carpet,
wardrobe, sleeps 5, 4 on bunk beds, plus a comfortable sofa bed
and armchair, telephone.
Kitchen - large well equipped, fridge
/ freezer. 6 ring gas cooker, extraction canopy above cooker to
comply with latest regulations, serving hatch to main hall, crockery
and cutlery for up to 36 people, 6 slice toaster, telephone.
Large Hall - tables and chairs and
flag pole.
Hot water and full central heating.
First aid room. Fitted carpet, bunk
bed and wash basin.
Outside tap.
1 acre Field for camping with separate
entrance. Tap and fenced Elsan disposal on field.
Outside flag pole.
Souvenirs available (teddies, badges,
wellie pegs, bugs etc.) details will be given on booking.

Booking Procedure
The facilities are open for booking
to Guide Organisation members and are available throughout the year,
bookings open for August 1st for the following year.

From M1 Motorway
Leave the motorway at junction 11 (Luton / Dunstable
exit), turn towards Luton. At the first set of traffic lights, turn
left into Humberstone Road. At the next roundabout take the 2nd
exit (Oakley Road), at the end of the road turn right, continue
on this road and go under the railway bridge, take the second exit
at the next roundabout (Bramingham Road), straight on at the next
roundabout then left at the next roundabout into Northwell Drive.
Turn right at the next roundabout into Lygetun Drive. Woodcroft
is on the right at the end of the road, just opposite Brompton Close.

From Dunstable
In Dunstable at A5/A505 double roundabouts turn
towards Luton on the A505 (Church Street) continue along this road
until you have passed under the M1 motorway, then follow the instructions
from M1 Motorway.

From Bedford A6
Follow the A6 to Luton, on entering Luton (close
to the Hospice which will be on your right hand side) go straight
over the first roundabout remaining on the A6 at the second roundabout
take the second exit into Icknield Way. Continue straight over the
next 2 roundabouts, at the 3rd roundabout turn right
into Northwell Drive, Turn right at the next roundabout into Lygetun
Drive. Woodcroft is on the right at the end of the road, just opposite
Brompton Close.

From Hitchin A505
Follow the A505 towards Luton on entering Stopsley
at the roundabout take the 2nd exit towards the town
centre, (Stopsley Way), continue straight over the next roundabout.
At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit (Stockingstone
Road) continue straight until you reach the next roundabout take
the 3rd exit signposted Bedford, continue along New Bedford
Road straight over the next roundabout (Lloyds bank is on the left
hand side, Barnfield College is on the right). At the next roundabout
turn left into Grasmere Road. At the end of the road turn left,
go straight over the next 2 roundabouts. At the next roundabout
turn right into Northwell Drive. Turn right at the next roundabout
into Lygetun Drive. Woodcroft is on the right at the end of the
road, just opposite Brompton Close.

From
St. Albans
Take the A6 to Luton, continue to follow the A6
Bedford signs untill you reach the Stockinstone Road roundabout,
continue along A6 (New Bedford Road) straight over the next roundabout
(Lloyds bank is on the left hand side, Barnfield College is on the
right). At the next roundabout turn left into Grasmere Road. At
the end of the road turn left, go straight over the next 2 roundabouts.
At the next roundabout turn right into Northwell Drive. Turn right
at the next roundabout into Lygetun Drive. Woodcroft is on the right
at the end of the road, just opposite Brompton Close.
